4. During my thirty hours of indipendent component I spent extra time working with my mentor learning more about the trade of auto repair. I learned a lot about the lay out of the car and was able to get many hours of work under the hood in.
This work that I did to complete my independent component was good experience for someone studying to be an automotive technician. It was hands on experience with what I'm studying, and it helped me really understand the machines I'm working on. I couldn't really say that I've studies to be a mechanic without a lot of good work under the hood.
Working on this independent component was all technical. It was important that I really familiarize myself with what goes on under the hood of the cars. Specifically spending time taking apart vehicles like the MG my dad owns really helped me. Tearing apart things and putting them back together is one of the easiest ways to really understand what I'm looking at.
